Teen attacked on North Sacramento bike trail
A 13-year-old boy reported that he was assaulted Friday evening as he was walking home on a bike trail in the North Sacramento area. The youth reported that three boys, about 16 or 17 years old, came up behind him on the trail near Sonoma and Altos avenues about 6:40 p.m., according to the Police Department’s daily activity log.
Crews rescue fallen horse rider
An injured rider whose horse fell was rescued this week by a California Highway Patrol helicopter and other emergency crews from a remote area along the south fork of the American River in El Dorado County. Others riding the same trail discovered the fallen rider, whose name and age were not immediately available, and her horse Thursday afternoon and called for help. County firefighters and medics from Georgetown responded to the trail between Cronan Ranch Regional Trails Park and Salmon Falls Road in Pilot Hill
