The judge in the Chu Vue murder trial issued a tentative ruling today that he will not block an effort to put the defendant’s wife on the witness stand next week to testify about other affairs she may have been having at the time state correctional officer Steve Lo was shot and killed two years ago.

That 10-hour time difference from Sacramento to Tel Aviv complicates matters, but after days of playing phone tag, I finally heard back from Omri Casspi a short while ago. The Kings second-year forward is playing for the Israeli national team in the 2011 European Championship pre-qualifying tournament, and as of today, helping with final preparations for his brother’s (Eitan) wedding

Lawyers for indicted tomato king Frederick Scott Salyer are renewing their efforts to spring him from the Sacramento County Jail on bail, this time by having his friends and family put up their homes as an assurance that he will not flee the country if he is released.

Three Brothers Arrested in Connection with Deadly Shooting

On August 5, 2010, Sacramento Cou – August 4, 2010 nty Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau detectives arrested three brothers in connection to a shooting on May 8, 2010, that resulted in the death of 29-year-old Marcel Hatch. Both 27-year-old Lorenzo Mays and18-year-old Kenyatta Mays were arrested in the 4900 block of Polk Street; 30-year-old Demetrius Mays was arrested in the 4400 block of Garfield Avenue
