Drexel students lauded for volunteer work

Students at Drexel University’s Center for Graduate Studies in Sacramento were commended for volunteer work in the community. The resolution from the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors noted that “Drexel’s students are exceptionally dedicated because they are all working adults whose lives are complicated by children and elderly parents, by jobs that are demanding and by a difficult economy.” Drexel students worked on various volunteer efforts, including the Great American River Clean Up, collecting toys for the needy, collecting clothing for the Sacramento Food Bank, collecting donations for the Run to Feed the Hungry and Komen Race for the Cure and sprucing up a section of the Sacramento bike trail. Drexel University, based in Philadelphia, opened its doors in Sacramento in January 2009.
