A 19-year-old man is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of another young man near a Rancho Cordova light-rail station Saturday. Sacramento County sheriff’s detectives accuse Rancho Cordova resident Deandre Brooks of shooting 21-year-old Juan Carlos Sanchez during a fight that began on a light-rail train Saturday night and ended behind a Ross department store at Zinfandel Drive and Folsom Boulevard, said Sgt.

Narcotics team: Meth lab discovered in Davis; three arrested
Authorities announced Thursday they had discovered a methamphetamine laboratory and made three arrests at an apartment complex in north Davis. According to a news release, the operation began as an investigation of a parolee selling drugs by the Yolo Narcotics Enforcement Team, a multi-agency task force.
