CHP says Packers’ Havner faces DUI charges

The California Highway Patrol says Green Bay Packers linebacker and tight end Spencer Havner is facing DUI charges after crashing a motorcycle and breaking his shoulder blade. The patrol says the 27-year-old wasn’t wearing a helmet when he lost control at the end of a cul-de-sac and crashed at about 2:45 a.m.

WASHINGTON — Law enforcement deaths this year dropped to their lowest level since 1959, while the decade of the 2000s was among the safest for officers – despite the deadliest single day for police on Sept. 11, 2001. Man pleads guilty to wearing Silver Star he didn’t earn

Kenneth Jerome Nelson, widely known as self-appointed guardian of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Capitol Park, pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to wearing a Silver Star he did not earn.
