On August 24, 2010, at 11:52 a.m., Rancho Cordova Police Department (RCPD) officers responded to Williamson Elementary School to speak to two students who told school officials they had been offered a ride by a stranger as they were walking home from school on Pinturo Way. The students, one 8-year-old girl and one 10-year-old boy, described the suspect only as a white male adult in a white van. The officers were unable to locate the suspect or his vehicle.

A confrontation that police say started on a Sacramento freeway Sunday afternoon ended with one man being stabbed and a suspect being sought. Sacramento police characterized the incident as road rage.
