Section cancels today’s outdoor playoff games

Because of weather issues, the Sac-Joaquin Section has canceled all of today’s baseball and softball playoff games. In softball, Division II and III games scheduled for today at the Sacramento Softball Complex will be moved to Wednesday (same times and fields) and Wednesday’s finals will be moved to Thursday.

El Dorado, Granite Bay schools capture Nature Bowl titles

Teams from El Dorado Hills and Granite Bay came out on top of the 86 teams in the 26th annual Nature Bowl, held by the California Department of Fish and Game May 15 at California State University, Sacramento. First place in the division for third- and fourth-graders went to a Granite Bay team of students from Green Hills, Excelsior and Ridgeview Schools. Lake Forest School in El Dorado Hills took first in the division for fifth- and sixth-graders.
