Lake County authorities said today that a couple whose bodies were found at the bottom of a roadside embankment last week had been shot, but the final cause of death still remains unclear until further test results are returned.

The man considered a “person of interest” in the deaths of a Maine couple whose bodies were found in Lake County last week now faces charges in connection with the marijuana operation he employed the couple to help him with, according to authorities. Robby Alan Beasley, 29, is now facing charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and maintaining a place for the unlawful sale of marijuana, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
