Investigators allege that 23-year-old Kyle Douglas Frank, of Roseville, shot at four vehicles on four separate occasions during August and September. The shootings appeared to stem from road rage, investigators said, on Interstates 5 and 80, CHP officials said in a news conference this morning.

City Council approves plan for surveillance cameras

The Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday night to accept a federal grant to pay for 32 surveillance cameras to be placed in crime hot spots. The $614,964 grant was awarded to the city in April by the federal Department of Homeland Security. A Yolo County sheriff’s deputy shot a woman being evicted from her Davis apartment Tuesday morning after the woman brandished a knife and refused to drop it despite repeated orders, a Davis police spokeswoman said. Even after she was shot in the right side of her torso, 46-year-old Eleni Bekele stayed upright in her apartment doorway and continued to argue and hold the knife, said Lt. Colleen Turay.
